Since The Inn is located on a military post we are obligated to advise you of the following regulations which apply to all personnel on post. Should you have any questions or require further information, please contact the Military Police at 808-655-7114.
SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN Children under ten years of age must be accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian or another child at least twelve years of age. They may not be left alone in the rooms or on the playground without supervision. Children over twelve years of age, but younger than sixteen years of age are subject to a curfew from 2200-0400 daily, unless accompanied by an adult.
Child care or baby-sitting is not permitted in the Inn. 25th Infantry Division (Light) and U.S. Army, Hawaii regulation 210-8 requires military personnel and/or their spouses or other qualified persons to control and supervise family members at all times.
PERSONAL VEHICLE REGISTRATION All vehicles, to include automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, motor scooters, mopeds, bicycles, boats and trailers, that are regularly or intermittently operated or parked within the limits of U.S. Army Hawaii installations, must be registered within ten days of arrival.
To register a POV, service members or their dependents must go to the Installation Access Pass Office, located at Leilohua Golf Course at the far end of the parking lot, between 0900-1530 hours, M-F. You should bring the following items in order to be issued a decal:
PRIVATELY OWNED WEAPONS Privately owned weapons are not to be kept at the Inn. All weapons, including war trophies, must be registered with the Provost Marshal within three working days of arrival. Handguns must also be registered with the State of Hawaii by going to the main station, Honolulu Police Department, 801 S. Beretania Street, Honolulu. After registration, the proof of such must be brought back to the Schofield Barracks MPs.
All weapons should be stored in your unit arms room. Please contact your commander or first sergeant to arrange for storage.
BICYCLE HELMETS All personnel operating a bicycle on Schofield Barracks must wear a helmet. Helmets may be purchased at the Four Seasons.
PERSONAL VEHICLE SHIPMENT MATSON TRANSPORTATION COMPANY All inbound personal vehicle shipments to Hawaii are handled by the Matson Transportation Company, located on Sand Island in Honolulu. If your car will arrive before you do, call the Matson lot to see if it is still there, or has been moved to the POV lot at Pearl Harbor. Cars are only kept at the Matson lot for five working days. Matson lot hours are 0830 to 1130 and 1300 to 1500, Monday through Friday. The Naval Supply Center lot is open from 0730 am to 1500, Monday through Friday. The numbers to call for information are 808-471-0806 or 808-471-2040. You will need to have your DD form 788, Personal Vehicle Shipping Document ready when you call.
ANIMAL QUARANTINE STATION All pets arriving to Hawaii are required to undergo a 120 day quarantine period. Pets may be visited at the quarantine station, located in the Halawa Valley in Honolulu. The quarantine station may be reached via H-1, taking the Halawa/Camp Smith exit. Follow the signs to the station. It is also accessible by city bus. For more information call 808-368-3456.
Outbound personnel are reminded that pets are not allowed on the premises. A cleaning fee will be assessed to all rooms found to have pets.
FAMILY MEMBER EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE Civilians and family members are eligible for assistance when seeking employment. Such services are provided by the Employment Resource Center, located in Building T1500, Ft. Shafter Flats, in Honolulu. They can provide information and assistance on both federally-funded and non-appropriated fund positions. They offer a recorded message with both information and job listings, which can be reached at 808-439-9301 for federally funded positions, or 808-438-9556 for NAF jobs. The center personnel may be reached at 808-438-9302.
Job listings are also maintained, and applications may be picked up at the ACS building on Wheeler AAF, Building 864. The jobs listed are the same as those listed at the Ft. Shafter CPO.
LOCAL SCHOOL INFORMATION Students in the Schofield Barracks area attend public schools in the Oahu Central School District. Elementary students residing in the Inn will attend Hale Kula Elementary, located on post near the Officer’s Club. Intermediate students (grades 7 or 8) attend the Wheeler Intermediate School on Wheeler AAF. High School students (grades 9-12) attend Leilehua High School, located in Wahiawa. Bus transportation is available for Intermediate and High School students. The bus stop is behind the laundry building, across the street from the credit union. Bus times can be obtained by calling the school or bus company.
