13. Chapel

The first chapel on Schofield Barracks was built in 1913 in Castner Village (upper post) and the second, and larger "Soldiers Chapel" in 1920. Soldiers Chapel was moved to its current location, by "D" Quad, in 1925. Soldiers Chapel inherited a bell, from the older chapel, which was donated in 1912 by the 5th US Cavalry Regiment. It also boasts a rare 1931 vintage pipe organ, on of the only two of its kind in Hawaii. The Soldiers Chapel is a National Historic Landmark.
