Macomb Gate was the main gate until the late 1980’s and is named for Maj Gen Montgomery Macomb. Built in 1932, Macomb and Funston gates, both named for District of Hawaii commanders, as well as Carter gate, first reflected the "art decor" style of construction seen throughout Schofield Barracks.
