Construction on the hospital was delayed when the United States entered World War I. The hospital was completed in 1929 and was used extensively as Station Hospital 26 during World War II. The facility served as the post hospital until 1965 when it was converted to a United States Army Health Clinic and all hospital functions were consolidated at Tripler Army Medical Center. The adjacent Grant Hall, which has served as a guest house, was originally the nurses quarters.
