Ralston Field is named in honor of Colonel Robert R Ralston, the commanding officer of the 3rd Engineers at the time of his death in 1934. The Engineer castle was added in 1935 and is modeled after the old West Point library. The 3rd Engineers were then billeted in "B" Quad.
