Constructed in 1933 at a cost of $79,000, the base Headquarters was the headquarters of the 14th Pursuit Wing, commanded by Brig. Gen. Howard C Davidson. During the attack, Gen Davidson left the protection of this building to join his troops out on the flight line and helped push aircraft away from the burning hangars towards dispersal sites.
